A public face-off between Tesla's Robotaxi and a Waymo

I was wrong, sorry. This is evidence that Robotaxi's are indeed the best tech on the planet.

I’m doing it. I’m saying I was wrong. Tesla’s Robotaxi’s are actually doing great. In fact, they’re doing way better than Waymo’s are and there is proof. The internet delivered me this video today. After watching there is no way around it: Tesla is the best car company in the world.

As you can clearly see in this epic face-off between a Robotaxi and a shitty Waymo, Tesla is way better. The Musk-mobile eventually decided to end the stalemate with grace, as every normal human being would do when faced with a road user that is clearly in the wrong but doesn’t seem to give in to his wrongdoings.

As the passengers rightfully claimed, the Tesla was the one that came up with a solution which the Waymo created, by backing down and parking in a spot where it wasn’t allowed to park. But that’s fine, because blocking the road for 5 minutes was starting to irritate other road users, so every move to end the situation as fast as possible is fine, right?

Dear reader, I’m very much joking. This was the most cringe worthy video I’ve seen in days. I don’t know what the Tesla-influencers in the Robotaxi were on, but the car was most definitely causing the whole situation. It even made it worse by acting like every Tesla-driver would: it claimed to have right of way and pushed the ‘lesser’ car out of the way by being aggressive.

While it is fairly easy to come up with many explanations why the Tesla Robotaxi chose to assert it’s dominance while being very clearly in the wrong (it’s in the wrong lane trying to overtake while there is oncoming traffic on the road). But the one the influencer behind the camera came up with, is probably the most stupid I’ve ever heard. He claims the cars the Tesla is overtaking are the ones to blame for this situation, because they aren’t waiting for the stop sign, but trying to go somewhere else. And that, dear reader, makes is perfectly okay to overtake a line of cars on the wrong side of the road and push the oncoming traffic out of the way. I’m guessing that’s Tesla-logic.

So yes, Tesla is better than Waymo, but only in the fact it’s better at mimicking the behavior of Tesla-drivers.

In other news:

Max Verstappen confirmed he might not wake up tomorrow. Which is factually true, but very unlikely. As is his transfer to Mercedes. Max’ confirmation was an answer to a question about the likelyhood of said transfer. One thing is for sure: we’ll miss Max when he leaves F1, either by no longer waking up, or just retiring.

Want to smell like your very own Ford truck? Well now you can thanks to Dr. Squatch. The soap manufacturer collaborated with Ford to create the Bronco Bricc and the F-150 Though Scrub. Interestingly both soap bars should smell like nature and not broken plastic and worn out floor mats.

Something seems to have changed in Affalterbach. Mercedes-AMG is apparently making a real sports car again. We know the ‘Concept AMG GT Track Sport’ will have a V8 under the hood, which makes it already interesting enough to keep tabs on. But AMG is sweetening the deal by saying the car is meant to “set record lap times”. Let’s see if it can take back the Nürburgring record Porsche stole in 2021.
